Candidates are searched out on a personal basis, and are not normally actively considering a change of position before an approach is made. The most suitable candidates for the position in question are approached, and the possibility of a move is put before them. By this means the best candidates are identified and a short list is prepared and presented to the client for approval. This is usually available within 6-8 weeks of commencement of the assignment although this time can be improved in certain circumstances. The clients name is only disclosed to the candidates who succeed in reaching the later stages. Markland are particularly effective at this method of recruitment because we network constantly throughout the packaging industry and as a result, it is likely that we are speaking to people with the relevant knowledge and experience you require even though they may not be looking currently. For this service we split our overall fee into 2 installments based on an estimated starting salary. The first installment acts as a retainer at the start of the assignment to cover costs and ensures a commitment from the client, the balance of the fee remaining will be invoiced on the starting date of the successful applicant. No charge is made for any consultant visits to client organisations to discuss the assignment. Advertising Assignments We also offer advice on the best media to advertise in such as local and national press as well as select trade periodicals. All advertisements appear under the Markland logo but can include or omit the clients name and logo, thus providing confidentiality if required. Should the client wish to remain anonymous, candidates will only be informed of the identity of the company should they succeed in reaching the later stages. All the response will be screened by the consultant who will interview the candidates so as to make an informed shortlist to put before the client, thus saving time and deliberation. Our aim is to complete the assignment within 6-8 weeks of commencement or sooner whenever possible. The cost of the advertisement or a proportion is charged to the client in the form of a retainer which will be credited upon successful completion of the assignment. To help keep the cost of this service to a minimum we have successfully negotiated preferential advertising rates with The Daily Telegraph and select trade journals for positions of a more senior level. When our consultants are supplied with a full job specification they can consult the candidate register with either of the 2 previous methods of recruiting to give a broader catchment of suitable applicants. Should the database recruitment method be selected individually, Markland will work on a contingency basis only charging a fee when we successfully place a candidate and they commence employment with your company. |
